CLEAN THOUGHTS | Dry Brushing
The lymphatic system is in direct communication with the immune system. This vital network of vessels absorb and drain toxins from the tissues into the blood assisting the body in fighting infections and healing wounds. The lymph system doesn't have a pump like the circulatory system and relies on manual stimulation (dry brushing, massage, inversions, exercise and infrared sauna treatments) to keep the system running smoothly.
Regularly dry brushing will sweep away dead skin cells, boost energy and circulation, reduce the appearance of cellulite, improve digestion and support the lymphatic system. This easy to come by tool that happens to look beautiful in your bathroom, is a must for any green beauty arsenal.
We recommend dry brushing for 3-5 minutes each morning before you shower. Beginning with your feet, brush in a circular motion and move upward over the entire body. With light pressure, brush towards your heart where the lymph system drains, gradually increase pressure as your daily dry brushing routine continues. Shower as normal and finish with a toxic free body oil or moisturizer.
Our Merben body brushes are:
ETHICALLY PRODUCED
Each brush is assembled in Sri Lanka, in a factory where workers are 18+ and never discriminated against based on gender, religion, language or cast. Most of the women employed have children and are given flexible working hours. Those who are unable to get to the factory due to family obligations (e.g. in charge of caring for a sick parent or baby) are given the opportunity to work from home.
SUSTAINABLY PRODUCED
Each body brush handle is fashioned from timber castoffs intended for landfill and treated with nontoxic paint sealer.
