Simple Sun-kissed Skincare
It's that glorious time of year that calls for sun-kissed shoulders, sandy toes and beach reads. Sunshine elevates moods, warms our skin, ripens strawberries and bathes our surroundings in light and shadows. We want to get outside and enjoy all that summer has to offer while maintaining the health of our skin, so we're keeping our summer skincare simple by:
- Drinking in all the benefits of the sun for up to fifteen minutes per day. Vitamin D comes from sun exposure and supports bone, heart, brain and immune health, hair growth, and mood.
- Prioritizing mornings and evenings outside when UV rays are less strong. It's cooler then too!
- Using zinc based sunscreen. We offer several that don't leave us looking pasty. Natural zinc is effective and safe for us and our waterways and is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Reapply as needed.
- Drinking plenty of water and eating antioxidant rich foods like tomatoes, watermelon, berries and dark leafy greens which protect against free radical damage in the body. They are in season for a reason!
- Finding a hat to love.
- Enjoying the shade. Forest bathing is a balm for the soul (especially when accompanied by natural bug spray).
- Making a ritual of our after sun skincare. Treat skin to moisturizing, antioxidant rich Sun Serum or Sun Body Oil.
