Libra Season 2019
Just as the September 23rd fall equinox brought balance to the light of the day and the dark of the night, Libra season has arrived to bring balance to our hearts and minds.
Represented by the scales of justice, Libra is the epitome of harmony and cooperation. Learning to consider both sides of the story, pondering multiple perspectives, and prioritizing fair solutions is a key focus of Libra season. This practice is an important tool for all of us as individuals to develop so that we may also benefit society as a greater whole with a more inclusive approach.
If we consider the 12 houses of the zodiac to symbolize our individual journeys of discovering who we are and how we relate to the collective, the first 6 houses are devoted to the discovery of Self and the last 6 are how the Self relates to and is a part of the Collective. Libra as the ruler of the 7th house then, is the sign devoted to understanding how we as individuals connect with one another.
As the cardinal air sign, Libra is the initiator of the way we communicate with and understand each other. Libra helps us see the Other as a mirror, as a reflection of ourselves and of deep collective themes.
Ruled by Venus, Libra has a true understanding of the important value of all things beautiful, intentional, and well-considered. Libra teaches us to view every person we meet as someone to have love and compassion for. The air element brings a more intellectual aspect to the Libra Venus – encouraging us to balance our emotions with our thoughts.
The New Moon in Libra on September 28th is an especially lovely time to consider how these themes of balance, cooperation, beauty, and harmony, are a part of our lives.
Does your mind make space to consider your heart? Does your view of the world take time to understand life from many other people’s perspectives? How can you infuse more love and intention into your relationship with yourself and others?
